About the Shop
Rusty Chandelier was born from owner Jody’s love of creating a beautiful home space. In 2012, Jody began consulting for Unique Boutique in Chester, a shop of consignment pieces from the surrounding community and found antiques. Jody became a partner and eventually full proprietor in 2013, renaming the business Rusty Chandelier in 2014. Jody continued with similar inventory and also added new retail items to fill in. Rusty Chandelier has continued to grow and inventories popular home décor styles, restyled furniture, as well as vintage and antique items and furniture. Expanding in 2022 to a larger building next door, Jody has grown her inventory and taken on a new adventure. The building purchase came with an antique soda fountain which she has kept running and added a full-service artisan espresso bar.
She has always had a knack for gathering and placing pieces; enjoying interior design and decorating. Her whimsical creative design was a highlight at choral, Rotary and theatre parties at the Benton family estate on Lake Almanor. Jody also has experience in landscape design and construction working alongside her husband Rick of RS Handyman for 15 years. Rick and Jody currently live in a home that they tore down to two walls, redesigned, and rebuilt together. They attend Lake Almanor Community Church regularly, and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Their faith affects their business as they are called to love.
Jody loves the hunt for treasures, restyling something old and broken into a piece that is functional and chic. Seeing the day-to-day progress of the labor and watching clients fall in love and find just the right space in their home brings Jody joy. |
